The Tables Are Turned

At school, we were asked to do Halloween-themed creations, from drawings to papercraft castles. Here’s my creepy doodle of a Triceratops snatching an unfortunate, young Tyrannosaurus in its beaky jaws, two famous opponents in the Cretaceous period with a switch of the food chain’s roles, which probably isn’t a fantasy. As explained in my other Triceratops blogpost, it’s possible that Triceratops might’ve actually been an opportunistic omnivore like a boar and not just a pure herbivore. Its approach to herbivory is an inexplicably unusual one compared to other herbivores of the animal kingdom, and these "herbivorous" adaptations seem very good for chowing down meat, such as the slicing teeth and the hooked beak. Even if Triceratops was indeed a pure herbivore, this one is at least giving its vegetarian diet some supplement, as many other "true" herbivores do today. Happy early Halloween!
